Heughan House
Planning permission has been granted for the extension to the rear of Heughan House. Detailed drawings are now being produced for a Building Warrant. Fundraising is ongoing and we will communicate on successful grant applications as soon as they have been confirmed.
Plans have now been submitted for the extension to the decking area at the front of the shop. Awnings have been purchased to provide a more sheltered external seating area. New bistro furniture has been ordered.
Allotments and Link Park
Discussions are taking place about the siting of fruit trees. Work is ongoing to eradicate Japanese Knotweed from both the Allotment area and Link Park.
Auchencairn Climate Transition – e-bikes
An area in the allotments, next to the existing shed, has been allocated by the Initiative for the ACT bike storage. Work on the base will start when funds have been released from grant providers.
Projects under consideration
We are investigating the cost / benefit of an electric car charging point. Initially this will assess Heughan House car park as a location, but look at other options. Grants available and income will be considered and balanced against maintenance costs.
Discussions are taking place with village resident Jill Johnston on the possibility of a creating a tennis court / multi use games area in the village.
Websites for the village community and visitors are now in requirements gathering and initial design phases.
